Colleen Johnston is currently Group Head Finance and Chief Financial Officer of TD Bank Financial Group. Colleen joined TD Bank Financial Group in March 2004, as Executive Vice President, Finance Operations after spending 15 years with Scotiabank in various executive positions. Colleen began her career in 1982 with Price Waterhouse.

Colleen graduated from York University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She received her Chartered Accountant designation in 1984 and in 2006, she was elected as a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), the highest designation conferred by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario recognizing her outstanding career achievements and dedication to community activities.

In the fall of 2006, for the third year in the row, Colleen was recognized for her outstanding achievements as part of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN). In 2007, Colleen was inducted into the Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 "Hall of Fame".

Colleen is presently the volunteer Chair and President of the Heart and Stroke Foundation Board of Directors and Chair of the ShareLife Corporate Campaign. Colleen was also a member of the Campaign Steering Committee of Bridgepoint Health where she was previously a Board member and served as Chair for three years.

Actively involved in promoting diversity in the workplace, Colleen is Chair of TD Bank’s Women in Leadership Committee. Colleen is also a member of the International Advisory Council at the Schulich School of Business.

Colleen was born in Vancouver and currently resides in Toronto with her husband and two teenage daughters. She enjoys traveling, reading and cottage life.
