A senior financial professional with a wide array of working relationships with business executives in Canada, the United States and internationally, Bernard R. Wilson is an advisor in corporate finance and investment banking. He has had extensive experience in major financial restructurings and advised on international trade and commerce issues.

Mr. Wilson is a recognized Canadian businessman having served in numerous leadership roles such as the Chairman of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Canada’s largest business organization with 175,000 members. As well, he acted as Chairman for the Canadian Council for International Business, the organization representing Canadian multinational companies at the OECD in Paris, the WTO in Geneva and the UN in New York. Mr. Wilson’s past roles also included the Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (Canada), a Member of the Canada/US Trade Committee, and Chairman of the Institute of Corporate Directors for Canada.

In 2009 Mr. Wilson was awarded the first ever ICD Governance Award by his peers in the Director community. This honour recognizes individuals who have demonstrated superior effort and commitment to advancing Corporate Governance in Canada consistent with the goals of the ICD.

Throughout his career, Mr. Wilson’s business expertise has focussed on corporate finance including acquisitions, mergers and divestitures. Among others his experience as a strategic and financial advisor to the private and public sector has greatly contributed to his abilities in corporate restructuring, accounting, and performing auditing advisor services. Mr. Wilson has been involved in international trade throughout his career and has also had the good fortune to participate in alternative dispute resolutions in the role of a negotiator, mediator or arbitrator of large for complex commercial issues and disputes.
