Ms. Raiss brings 29 years of experience encompassing various Board positions and executive positions in executive compensation and human resources, engineering, operations, strategy, merger integration, governance, information technology, and marketing.

Sarah Raiss is currently Executive Vice-President of Corporate Services, responsible for human resources, information systems, aviation and other administrative functions for TransCanada.

Ms. Raiss has a BS in Applied Mathematics and an MBA both from the University of Michigan. Sarah completed the Institute of Corporate Directors’ (ICD) Directors’ Education Program.

Ms. Raiss is currently or has been a member of the following Boards: Shopper’s Drug Mart, Business Development Bank of Canada Board, the Advisory Committee on Senior Level Retention and Compensation for the Treasury Board of Canada, Harvard University’s Women’s Leadership Board, the Petroleum Club Board of Governors, the Executive Committee for the Calgary Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors, the Board of Directors of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, the United Way Co-Chair for the 2004 United Way of Calgary and Area city-wide campaign, and the Alumni Board of Governors for the University of Michigan Business School.

Prior to TransCanada, Sarah had a consulting firm specializing in strategy, culture change and merger integration. Ms. Raiss held various positions at Ameritech including Vice President Customer Service and Support, and Director of Strategy. Ms. Raiss was a Senior Consultant at Metzler & Associates. Ms. Raiss began her career at Michigan Bell in engineering and marketing.

In 2003 the year of its inception, 2004, 2005 and 2006, Ms. Raiss was named Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100 by WXN, and in 2007 inducted into the Top 100 Hall of Fame.
