The Directors Education Program (DEP) was jointly developed by The Institute of Corporate Directors and The Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. It is a 12-day program delivered at the Rotman School in 4 sessions of 3 days each over a period of 6 to 8 months. The DEP is also offered through partner universities in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Montreal. Fees are $14,500, including tuition, study materials and meals during the program. ICD membership fees are extra for non-members. Graduates sit for examinations to earn the ICD.D designation.  ICD also offers three-day programs in Financial Literacy, Governance Essentials and Board Effectiveness for directors of small and medium sized companies. The Chartered Director Program is offered by The Directors College and is a residential program of five sessions and is delivered at the Niagara Institute. The Director’s College was founded by the Conference Board of Canada and the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. The Chartered Director Program leads to the Chartered Director (C. Dir.) designation. Fees are $20,000 including tuition, study materials, residence and meals during the program, which program consists of five 3-day modules. The College also offers the Chair’s Forum, Introduction to Financial Literacy, the Human Resources and the Compensation Committee Certificate (HRCC). For details please click here

The Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) program consists of five modules of three days each, at a cost of approximately $15,000. The Collège des administrateurs de sociétés was created by the Caisee de dépôt et placement du Québec in 2005. It joined forces with the Autorité des marchés financiers, Université Laval’s Faculté des sciences de l'administration and the ministère du Conseil exécutif du Québec to found and support the College. Courses are given in Québec City, at the Caisse’s head office. The Collège also offers programs for the governance of pension funds, financial services organizations, crown corporations, ownership transfer for business owners, and seminars on standing committees, including ethics, audit and human resources.

The Canadian Virtual University offers 300 degrees, diplomas and certificates, and 2,500 credit courses completely online or through distance education. The University of Athabaska offers the Bachelor of Professional Arts Governance, Law and Management major (BPA GLM). It is not strictly corporate governance but it does provide 7 to 8 aligned credits at http://www.cvu-uvc.ca
